Printing a Route Margin Report

Once you have entered all of the required information needed to generate a Route Margin Report, command options will appear allowing you to print or choose from a set of other print options.

You may choose to generate three different types of Route Margin Reports:

• Summary – Generates a report which displays customer totals by route.
• Detail with Customer Totals – Generates a report which displays customers with item detail by route.
• Detail with no Customer Total – Generates a report which displays item gross margin by route.

The report may be printed in summary by customer, customer by item detail, or by item detail for each route.

Printing a Route Margin Report

Note: Subtotals are listed for each route.  

An uncosted above the line“Above the line” refers to a customer class assigned to the customer used to segregate customers that are part of a company’s regular business. Above the line customers are generally profitable and represent sales at the normal markup. and below the line"Below the line” is a customer class assigned to the customer used to segregate customers that are not part of normal business. This customer class is also referred to as low margin customers or those sold at a less than normal markup. summary page for routes by customer class will also be included as part of the report.

Separate summary pages will be generated by route for both above and below the line customer classes.  

A grand total section/page listing the grand total above the line and the grand total below the line will also be generated.  

Only line details will change based on summary (customer totals by route only), detail with customer totals (customers with item details) and detail with no customer totals (item totals only, by route). The following information will print on the report based on above and below the line customer classes:

• Customer – Customers within each particular customer class (i.e. above the line/below the line) are listed within this column, followed by the customer class name
• Amount Invoiced (Product) – The dollar amount invoiced for the product
• Amount Invoiced (Other) – The dollar amount invoiced for non-product items, such as pricing exceptions set for customers (price allocations, cost buckets, cost adjustments, cost allocations, etc).
• Amount Invoiced (Total) – The total dollar amount invoiced ; Product (the amount of product invoiced) + Other (non-product items invoiced).
• Actual Cost (If report was run using actual cost) – The total cost attributed to the item when Cost of Goods Sold was run.
• Standard Cost (If report was run using standard cost) – The standard cost of the product, in dollars.
• Pounds – The item amount, in pounds.
• Gross Profit – The total dollar amount of profit based on the gross profit calculation method set in Ledger Options.
• Gross Margin – The gross profit expressed as a percentage of the total amount invoiced based on the gross margin calculation method set in Ledger Options.
• Grand Total – The grand total for each of the columns (headers) listed on the report.

Note: Each customer and route will have subtotals correlating with each of the report columns (headers) previously listed (see above).

Note: Grand Total Above, Grand Total Below, and Grand Total are calculated for each column of the route margin report: product invoiced (in dollars), other-type product invoiced (in dollars), total amount invoiced (in dollars), actual cost of items invoiced (in dollars), pounds of items invoiced, gross profit (in dollars), and gross margin (as a percentage).

Uncosted Items Page

Items that have been invoiced but have not yet been costed are itemized at the end of the report in a separate uncosted item report for customers above and below the line.

• Rt – Route.
• Broker –The broker ID, if you have selected Y in the Broker field.
• Customer – The customer code and name of the customer.
• Item – The item group and item name.
• Order – The sales order number.
• Invoice – The invoice number if the order is invoiced.
• Quantity – The quantity of the item shipped to the customer.
• IN UN – The invoicing unit of measure.
• Selling Price – The total per unit selling price of the item.
• Extended – The dollar amount charged for the item. Quantity x Selling Price = Extended.

Summary by Route Page

A summary by route for above and below the line classes displaying each of the column (headers) listed on the report.

Grand Total Above and Below the line page/section

Grand total above and below the line will be generated at the end of the report and display the following information:

• Grand Total Above – The grand total for all routes above-the-line for each of the columns (headers) listed on the report
• Grand Total Below – The grand total for all routes below the line for each of the columns (headers) listed on the report
• Grand Total – The grand total above - the grand total below=grand total, for each of the columns (headers) listed on the report.

Note: Grand Total Above, Grand Total Below, and Grand Total are calculated for each column of the Route Margin Report: product invoiced (in dollars), other-type product invoiced (in dollars), total amount invoiced (in dollars), actual cost of items invoiced (in dollars), pounds of items invoiced, gross profit (in dollars), and gross margin (as a percentage).
